Will RPA be able to reform of working style?

Nowadays, It seems that many companies proceeding Reform of working styles. Off cause just improving business process is one way, recently trend is to use RPA. What is the "RPA"?
It is an abbreviation of "Robotic Process Automation".
How to use? We have occasions that to need to work repeatedly on PC. For example, the occasion that we get information from a website and copy & paste to Excel sheet. Or the occasion that we need to enter expenses to expenses settlement system for  this month from  Excel sheet . Depending task in charge, there may be people who handle more data and to input to in-house computer system is very bothersome work.

In such cases, we can correspond by to create "Robot" by RPA software. "Robot" doesn't mean so-called robot and means program for automation of operating PC. Even if you say program, you don't write code like Excel macro or Java. All of you have to do is create a program operating PC automatically by combining parts on the RPA software. Surely this way may be easy for also none-IT staff.

But there is also the opinion of doubt that whether it really lead to operational efficiency. If person in charge of each department, I mean None-IT staffs, will start to create Robot, be not managed Robot will increase steadily. IF person in charge who created Robot will change to other department, if takeover is not performed correctly nobody will maintain the Robot. As a result, "Stray Robot" will increase . Even if previous person in charge created a part of Robot, maybe next person may create same function. In the past time, none-IT department staffs actively create  Excel macro etc and lead to operating efficiency themselves  was called  "End User computing", at that time also already 　same thing had happened like Robot.

The other day a training that I took is the introductory training of RPA product "Blue Prism". The characteristics of this product is client-server type and administrator can grasp all Robot, and published parts are able to reuse by all members of developer. Off cause It's no problem that developers are persons in charge of IT department , or not, it is a little easy to understand for a person had experience of programming rather than doesn't have . I think this RPA software may resolve the aforementioned about management of created Robot, but maybe about developing work burden increase on the IT department oppositely, isn't it?

If you really hope to success work-style reform, I think at the first displaying initiatives throughout the company, starting to enlighten for all employee and you need to consider how to operate of RPA systems in advance. If you want the desired effect I think if will not be able to success if you will not design to that level.

Around 2018 RPA was talked about actively, there were also high reward project for RPA engineers. And It was said that the way of society and companies would be changed rapidly. But now, after a year, the boom calms down a little, I think some of companies increase to be cautious for introduction whether it is really cost-effective. Any tool you use, it is up to you that useful or not useful. No matter how much technology advances, this is a universal law of mankind. But it is true that the world changes at tremendous speed.

While to keep an antenna on the latest information for to keep with the times, always remember the most important thing to achieve your goals.
